The Consortium for Professional Security Officer Standards and Training (PSOST) was established in 2020 to meet the ongoing and unmet needs of private organizations who employ uniformed security officers to keep the people who visit their sites, including employees, consumers and visitors, safe.
PSOST sets the minimum selection and training standards for (non-sworn) Security Officers, either seeking employment, or those currently employed with healthcare, campus or retail organizations.
PSOST utilizes a Consortium Advisory Board (CAB) consisting of Subject Matter Industry Experts, under the leadership of an Executive Director, who research, develop and create competency standards and write policies impacting security officers and the organizations that employ them.
PSOST is a 501 (3) (C) Entity and is funded by corporate and individual membership fees and donations and grants. (IRS approval pending)
PSOST members agree to abide by and promote the standards established by PSOST and are eligible to receive the Consortium’s services and benefits which include:

PSOST utilizes a Consortium Advisory Board (CAB) consisting of Subject Matter Industry Experts, under the leadership of an Executive Director.
PSOST funding comes from corporate and individual member fees, donations and grants. Participating individuals and member organizations agree to adhere to the standards established by PSOST. Members are eligible to receive services and benefits.
