Consortium for Professional Security Officer Standards and Training

CAB Responsibilities

The PSOST Consortium Advisory board (CAB) is comprised of subject matter experts in healthcare, education and retail security, whose collaborative wisdom and experiences form the basis for the ideas and competency standards that PSOST establishes. Our CAB meets once a quarter to discuss, review, analyze and certify PSOST standards. CAB members represent associations and organizations within the healthcare, education and retail marketplaces.

The Consortium Advisory board (CAB) is the key to PSOST’s success. Our CAB members have over 100 years of collective experience working in the security industry and provide invaluable insight into the various contemporary and evolving challenges private organizations face trying to protect their employees, consumers and visitors. The CAB creates competency standards through consensus building and agreement. This approach to developing competency standards assurances private organizations that adhere to our published standards that they are not single mindedly focused but methodically thought out considering the competitive nature of the free market.

Additionally, CAB members receive no compensation, but are occasionally reimbursed for their expenses.
